Your credit union is a not-for-profit organization where earnings are returned to members through dividends and by new services. Because we area a not-for-profit financial cooperative, our success is measured by the level of member satisfaction, not just the bottom line.Federal credit unions, like ours, are chartered and supervised by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) which is an agency of the federal government. Also, the NCUA administrates the fund that insures members’ accounts to at least $250,000.00.
Since the Credit Union is owned by its members, you can participate in the Credit Union movement as a committee member, board director or by simply attending and voting at the annual meeting. The credit union has continued to thrive over the years through the efforts of many non-paid volunteers who have been dedicated to the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People”. You are encouraged to become involved in any aspect of Credit Union volunteering.
